Character
Name: Nishiyama Kurausu (Wrote it with last name first; his given name is Kurausu.)
Arcana: Emperor
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Grade: 2nd
Persona-user or NPC?: Persona user.
Played By: Himself; icons drawn by my friend will be used.
Starting Persona: Cleon, of Athens. Cleon, put simply, was a charismatic Athenian who brought his way to power after being known as a critic of the ruling body for years; after rising, he enjoyed popularity but was immensely militant and loathed Spartans, resulting in his own choice to put away the chance of peace with Sparta and eventually to his downfall.

He represents Kura's strong sense of self, want to achieve, and his intent to impress his beliefs on others. ... It can also be taken to represent his distrust of authority, and his slightly self-regimented lifestyle.
Combat Role: Physical tank/buffer; minor fire spells.

Appearance:

Kura's certainly nothing to shake a stick at: abnormally tall (standing at 6'2") and equally abnormally thick, Kura doesn't exactly pull punches when it comes to how he looks. He doesn't tower too much, but it's likely he has at least a couple of inches on everyone else: Why? Mainly because he's not entirely Japanese - Kura's mostly European, from the looks of him. From his blonde hair and brown eyes to his fairer complexion, nothing about him really screams "half-Japanese". His hair, usually cut short and handled deftly to avoid any approaching getting in his eyes, is a very nice blonde - definitely not dyed, albeit if it was, it'd be an amazingly impressive dye job - worthy of praise. Unfortunately for Kura, it really isn't: it's not dyed and he sure as hell hasn't gotten any favors done to him for it.

As it stands, his stance is annoyingly confident, and his style outside of school is generally one that mixes revealing and covering clothing. For example, Kura really enjoys hats - he has a small collection - and mixes hats with hoodies (with rolled up sleeves, of course) to avoid being immediately considered a foreigner - he's a bit more believable as a hafu when his hair color is entirely hidden, but generally people assume he's a gaijin anyway. Even so, he has a few Japanese traits in him, and it's not like people want to stare at his face appraising him: he's actually intimidating. With his towering and the fact he's built like the Western stereotype of a "high school jock" plus a little more - mainly because of his heritage plus his exercise regimen - he can be frightening, and he gets labelled as a large delinquent just as much as a foreigner because of it.

All in all, though, Kura isn't too intimidating up close - he has a nice smile, rarely has an aggressive posture, and is pretty tame. His general "what he wears" is the school uniform, but he's rarely seen without the sleeves rolled up to expose his bare forearm - even in the winter. Most of his self decoration comes from his hats - he prefers beanies during school if there's no dress code in relation to them, and if there is, he generally prefers to wear whatever he can get permitted. At the moment. he just wears one particular beanie - a three-striped beanie he seems to treasure - but he'll change for a different one every so often; usually when his normal beanie's in the wash.

Personality:
Kura, externally, is a very friendly, open person; many people would know him as highly optimistic, idealistic, and pushy about both of those mindsets. Kura very rarely swerves from keeping an open and "understanding" mind, to the point that many people have noticed him simply shrugging off bullying or generalized hatred towards him and treating it like it was all in the cards and nothing that hurt him. In truth, this is... basically true. Kura, due to what his mother has taught him in the past, accepts people mistreating him as people saying or doing mean things to him - and understands that it happens, and he has to be strong in the face of it and understand why people do it - and he does, really. People mistreat him because he's different, and while it's not a good feeling, he ignores that it kind of isn't a good feeling and views it as something that he couldn't get other people to change: to some degree, he's also internalized that he's lesser and stupider, and in general works more actively to protect and help the people around him instead of protect himself. It's a little concerning, but not many people care that much.

Kura enjoys viewing himself as manly and strong, personally; he thinks of manly as being strong, willing to accept if you've made a mistake, and... well, being not cute, and so forth. He's got a bit of a delusion going on there - his usual actions only lend himself to being seen as cute, which embarrasses him when it's pointed out. After all, he's very devoted to his friends, tells a lot with his body language, and generally is seen as happy or, at least, not upset. Unless his friends are being insulted or things he personally prides himself about are called into question, he's very pleasant beyond pushing how he feels about things and being fairly loud and boisterous just in general. Put simply, Kura's friendly and happy, unless someone contradicts his optimistic feelings, his idealistic views, his views of himself as manly, or insults or otherwise seeks to harm people he considers friends. He tends to throw himself into situations without stopping to think, and can get himself into trouble with his bullheadedness easily.

Kura, on the subject, is bold, foolhardy, and bullheaded: when a goal aligns in his sights that he wants to pursue, he chases after it passionately until he either succeeds or can't justify continuing. This aligns with two things: his independence, and his distaste for authority. He likes being independent and not having to rely on others (and, as well, having others rely on him), and strongly dislikes authority figures - especially when he feels they're being unkind or unjust to him or other people. Some of it is forgiveable - but they're supposed to be responsible adults, and that really gets him sometimes! As well, he's used to being punished far more thoroughly for small things then other students - in other words, Kura both dislikes and fears authority he doesn't trust, and in the way society is right now, he doesn't trust any authority besides his mother: all the others don't take him seriously.

Socially, I should note that Kura is a bit perceptive and, while he can't express himself or read others to the t, he can tell when people are upset or angry - he's something of an empath. If someone needs hugs, he can usually tell: he's a lot like a housepet in that sense, the kind that would curl up on your lap when you feel upset or distressed and try and make you feel happy. His ultimate goal in what he does is to make people happy - he wants people to be happy, and it makes him unhappy when other people aren't happy. Mentally, however, Kura isn't that smart - he worked his ass off to get acceptable grades, and even then, he excelled far more easily at exercise. He's not dumb, but he's not smart, either. He likes to have people verbally explain concepts to him, instead of trying to read them and understand. It's how he is. ... Additionally, he's easily manipulated, with the trust he places in others - and is easily fooled, socially. He can detect hidden sadness, but he's not good at reading manipulative intent, and can be easily fooled into believing things are true - and puts enough trust in the people he's friends with that even being presented with contradicting facts won't get to him unless someone else points out the contradiction to his face.

History:
Kura's family life isn't very good, and more than a few people know that much - his mom is a traditional Japanese lady, and there's rumors his dad was some European who ran off after he got her pregnant. Kura was raised only by his mother, and having an obviously foreigner kid like that probably didn't do her any favors, right? Anyway, he was born in Osaka, and went to public schools in that area. He got picked on, but it never really phased him as far as anyone could tell: he just didn't seem to care, albeit he protected others when they were picked on. He never liked teachers very much after middle school, though, even if he was respectful. He kind of kept making these outbursts that undermined what teachers were saying, and all, so hey, rude. Anyway, Kura dyed his hair one year when he was younger, but he apparently stopped at some point. After all that, he came up to a nice high school, spent his first year there, and then got into Chitoku somehow - pretty much everyone's willing to bet he got in on sports-related stuff - and spent most of the start of the year keeping to himself, and only really started trying to make friends recently. He's got more girl friends then guys, but that's life, right?

Other:
Clubs: Track Club & Calligraphy Club
Most people think he's a gaijin from the way he looks, but it's pretty easy to look up or find out about his mom and figure out he's a hafu.
He's got a kneejerk reaction to people attempting to jack his beanie, and it usually involves gutpunching whoever tried to take it from him: he learned to do that when people stole his hat as a child to properly see his blonde hair. (And, usually, got made fun of it. Children Are Cruel.)
